Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology

Integrative Biology and Physiology (IBP) is dedicated to an integrative systems biology approach to bio-medical discovery. We partner with colleagues across disciplines to investigate questions ranging from gene/molecule to the intact animal, while striving for excellence in research and dissemination of new knowledge with local, national, and global impact. It is our goal to discover new technologies by expanding our knowledge base and discovering new ways to integrate the biological disciplines including cardiovascular disease, obesity, stress and metabolic disorders on whole animal levels.

Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism

The Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism is an interdisciplinary, trans-departmental endeavor across the University of Minnesota Medical School to advance research on the fundamental biology of aging.

Institute for Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism

The Institute for Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism (IDOM) at the University of Minnesota is uniquely poised to become a premier research institute that is focused on advancing knowledge of the pathophysiology of diabetes and its complications through cutting edge research. IDOM is partially supported by an AIRP award from the UMN Medical School.
